DESCRIPTION:Due to various factors ranging from personal beliefs to state law may prohibit some from carrying a firearm or weapon for personal defense\, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have options!\nThis workshop introduces simple and effective movements that are easy to learn\, retain\, and adapt. We also focus on tools that are readily available and legal to carry anywhere. We suggest wearing normal “everyday” clothes to get as real of an effect that we can. \nIs there an age restriction? \nDue to the nature of the content covered\, we suggest that attendees are 18 or older. Any younger\, and a parent MUST be enrolled as a student as well. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? \nWe are located at The Tac Shack on North University Street. There is plenty of parking available\, and we are ADA accessible. \nWhat’s the refund policy? \nWe do not offer refunds\, but we do allow rollovers. We drive home the sincerity and importance of firearm safety\, the basic shooting fundamentals\, and the proper mindset to confidently operate a firearm. \nMission Statement\nOur passion\, is to instruct people to become confident with their firearm; while responsibly training them to arm themselves and be ‘on watch’ within their community. Our philosophy is simple\, the more firearms in the hands of properly trained Shepherds\, the better. \n\nFAQs \nHow soon can I take the course before my permit expires?\nYou can take the course up to 9 months before the permit expires\, and re-submit 6 months out (may change due to Illinois State Police Policy). \nWhat can I bring to the event?\nQualification takes place in our indoor range! Please bring a positive attitude\, a photo ID\, a modern\, clean\, properly maintained serviceable pistol in good working order\, at least 50 rounds factory loaded ammunition\, and eye & ear protection. Please wear appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes. We provide all that is required for the classroom (student materials\, course materials\, food\, refreshments\, etc.) \nWhat does the 3 Hour Course cover?\nAll applicable state and federal laws relating to the ownership\, storage\, carry\, and transportation of a firearm. Weapon Handling;\na. Handgun fundamentals\nb. Handgun concealment\nc. Live fire qualification instruction\nd. Live fire qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of minimum of 30 rounds which must include 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards; 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards; and 10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards at a B-27 silhouette target approved by the Illinois State Police. \nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?\nWe are located at The Tac Shack on North University Street.
